About

We bring the innovation to technology.

LDV Innovations is a technology transfer and commercialisation consultancy. We work in every industry, with companies of every size.

Who we are

Between a technology and its use.

Some companies own a technology. Others are looking for one. Between them lies the part that is easiest to miss: seeing where a technology would create real value, often in an industry it was never designed for. That is the part we do. We are not the inventor and not the adopter; we are the innovators who connect the two.

For a company with a technology, we find new applications, new industries and the large partners who can take it to scale. For a large company, we find the technologies that answer its needs, and shape the agreement that puts one to work. We represent only technology that is already proven, at readiness level 6 or above: demonstrated in a relevant environment, in operation, qualified, or already in use.

You will find no names on this site, of our people or of our clients. We work in confidence, and introductions are made in person.

TRL 6The nine levels, explained

Principles

Four things we hold to.

Understand the technology first

Before we say a word about markets, we learn what a technology does, what it does better than anything else, and what it cannot do. Only then do we ask where it belongs. A technology we do not understand is one we cannot represent to anyone in good faith.

Honest on both sides

The technology owner and the adopter hear the same story from us, and when a match is weak we say so early, to both. A transfer lasts only when both companies come out ahead, so we never earn one side's trust at the other's expense.

Evidence before enthusiasm

New technology is easy to admire. We hold our enthusiasm until an application has answered the hard questions: whether the problem is real, whether it pays, and whether it holds up at the adopter's scale. We carry no claim across the table that we have not examined ourselves.

What we are told stays with us

Technology owners show us their data and their intellectual property. Large companies tell us where their plans have a gap. Each side hears from us only what it needs in order to decide, and nothing else travels. A large company's need is never shown to a technology owner without its written consent, and the existence of talks is never cited to a third party, including investors. That discretion is what lets both speak plainly.

The team and network

Who is at the table.

The people you meet at the start are the people who see the work through, and around them sits a network we bring in as each engagement requires.

A round walnut table seen from above: three chairs, a writing pad at each place and a sealed letter at its centre.

The core team

A senior team that works both sides of every transfer. Nobody at LDV represents a technology without knowing the companies that might adopt it, or searches for a large company without knowing the technologies that could answer.

Industry specialists

Engineers, operators and former buyers from the industry concerned, who know how a technology is really judged there and what a plant, a hospital or a fleet will tolerate. They look at a technology and its fit with us before any name is put in front of a client.

Advisers on the deal

When a match moves towards an agreement, advisers on intellectual property, licensing and company law in the countries concerned join the table, so what is agreed in principle is something both companies can sign.
